General Information

DIBOND° is a relatively lightweight, yet very rigid aluminium composite material, consisting of a polyethylene core and aluminium cover sheets with a thickness of 0,3 mm.

Front and reverse side are coil-coated according to ECCA-Standards. DIBOND° is delivered with a protective film on both sides.

Advantages of Dibond

•The special aluminium alloy offers increased corrosion resistance and advantages in processing

•The super-polyester lacquer guarantees ideal printing properties, for screen as well as for digital printing

•The black PE core with UV blocker increases the UV resistance (compared to a bright core material)

•Despite its light weight, DIBOND° is offering high rigidity and perfect flatness, also with thin sheets.

•Excellent exterior stability within a range of temperatures from - 50 to +80°C and minor thermal expansion

•DIBOND° is environmentally friendly as fully recyclable

Anodized Qualities

Anodized DIBOND° aluminium composite panels stand out through their very metallic appearance. The DIBOND°eloxal surfaces are food safe and show only reduced fingerprints. In combination with abrasion-resistance DIBOND°eloxal is perfectly applicable for furniture construction (kitchen), interior design, shop design and the leisure industry.

Anodized surfaces are recommended for inside use only however DIBOND°eloxal 10µm can be used outside for about two years as well.

DIBOND°eloxal is available in a natural aluminium look. Since the market for interior design shows a trend for steel look, DIBOND°inoxal with a brushed steel look was recently launched to complete the range of anodized DIBOND° surfaces.

Please Note: The anodised DIBOND° surfaces are only suitable for interior use.

DIBOND°mirror is the first Aluminium composite panel of its kind and the result of significant R&D expenditure led by customer demand for a durable and distortion-free mirror sheet material. The durable and ultra-reflective mirror finish weighs just half as much as a glass mirror of the same thickness. This is an absolute advantage for transport, fixing and handling in terms of e.g. retail design, shop design and exhibitions stand building

One of the most crucial issues about DIBOND°mirror compared to mirrors out of glass is that DIBOND°mirror would not burst - an essential criteria for local authorities, the hotel and leisure industries and other areas where public safety is paramount.

DIBOND°mirror can furthermore be directly digitally printed which reflects a new trend in sports centres, shopping malls and signage within the retail industry.

The reflective DIBOND°mirror corresponds exactly to the demand for brighter and larger rooms and its elegant and exclusive appearance meets actual market trends in interior design, shop fitting and design as well as for exhibition stand building.

DIBOND° is the number 1 composite panel for all kind of signs, for POS/POP applications, for exhibition booths and shop-fitting, but also for direct digital printing and premium presentations, e.g. in museums or on art's exhibitions. Especially thanks to its new 2050 mm width, DIBOND° is ideally suited for seamless exterior LFP signage and for optimising waste.

Last but not least: thanks to its wide variety of new surface finishes, many more ideas can be realised using DIBOND°:

•For furniture

•For shop-fronts

•For bars, discotheques, hotels

•For leisure resorts

Already back in 1965 the former "Aluminium Walzwerke Singen GmbH" had a patent protection for their invention: the first aluminium composite material consisting of two aluminium cover sheets and a core of polyethylene. The name of this panel, which is still leading today in architectural applications, is ALUCOBOND°.

Based on the same technology, DIBOND° was launched in 1992, also being the first ACM in the display market and especially developed and optimised "For people with ideas" and their creative needs. Primarily planned as a pure white panel, DIBOND° soon started to move around the world and even sooner became the leading brand in display industries. During the last years, its product range was continuously enlarged, many new colours and surface styles were introduced, e.g. the butlerfinish surface in 2001, anodised DIBOND° in 2003 and in 2005 it introduced DIBOND°mirror as well as DIBOND° in 2050mm width, being the widest panel available in the market. However, this story of success has not yet come to its end.
